Heightening our Perception to Epic Proportions

Day 6 of the New Year and so much has happened already with so much more to come! First , a reminder that my post will be coming to you on Tuesdays. HaPpY TuEsDaY! Posting on Tuesdays gives me time to wrap up the weekend visitors, make announcements, and get some writing done on my current novel. Second , something to share- I find God's Word incredibly amazing. Each time I reread a passage, I learn something entirely new and profound. Only God could write such a work like this.   Take, for example, the Christmas story. An event I've read many, many times, told to children, seen as plays, etc. Yep, got that story down pat. THEN, God saw my heart and spoke to me, saying, "Wait a minute. There is so much more!"  I recalled Mary's responses to the angel's news, the birth of Jesus, and to other events in her life: she pondered them in her heart. The word ponder means to think about something carefully, especially before making a decision or reaching ...

Applying Our One-Word Choices

Last week we discussed choosing one words for this year.  Many of you did so.  For any of you who put your word in the comment section, I sent you a jpg with your word for you to print out. If you did not receive one, and  would like  a jpg, put your word in the comment section and I will tailor one special for you, too. :) (Be sure to include your email addy) Here is my one word: Here is how I will use this one word:             (and this is also how using one-word differs from a New Year resolution) Every moment of the day I want to work on perfecting this word in my life, morphing it to fit whatever situation I am in. Ah hah. ...

I'd like to share the idea with you. Making a New Year's resolution is easy. We all have an area of our life we'd like to change, improve, or downright delete. Unfortunately, those resolutions rarely endure past February. We try. Fail. Try again. Fail. Eventually we quit and perhaps consider trying again next year. One-Word The new idea is this: choose one word to be your theme for the year. Post the word in a prominent place. Use this word as your goal word for the year.  For example: If I chose "trust" I might see my goal as learning to trust others or I might see my goal as wanting others to trust me. So each day I would pray that God would help me grow in this area.  This concept "trust" needs to saturate every part of your day and nig...
