Desperate times don't always call for desperate measures. Sometime they just call for creativity.
My chefy daughter washed her chef aprons. Yeah! All the stains...gone!
In her hurry to get to cooking class on time, she forgot the sparkling white aprons. (yeah, we can all empathize with that one, right?)
What to do?
The teacher would mark her down if she didn't have her apron.
The teacher would mark her down if she wore the soiled apron "accidentally" left in her locker from the last class.
Now comes the moment in which I stood up and cheered her creativity. She took the soiled apron from her locker, turned it around so the clean inside would face her teacher and the globby side from yesterday's class face her clothing. She tucked in edges and made the apron fit the teacher's standard.
Pretty smart. True she will have more scrubbing to do to get the gunk out of her clothes as well as her apron, BUT she saved her grade for the day.
Life can toss some interesting problems at us. Some are our own doing. Some are not.
And not every problem has an easy solution. Cases in point: Daniel when the king's guard ordered him to eat the king's food (he politely refused-risking punishment); Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego when forced to worship the statue (they refused-risking death), Esther when her uncle strongly urged her to go before the king in a life or death moment, etc.
Whether the problem is big or small, God has our back. He also gives us each other to learn short cuts.
I am quite sure there are lots of other genius ideas to whacky problems like my daughter's apron issue this among you.
