Ahhhh the very core of a memorable story. This is what Lynette writes. I'm so excited to share with you Lynette's inspirational post. God's leading, gift, provision. Yes. You simply must read her response to my question, how has God led you on your writing journey. Here is what she said:

The Wonderful People God Gives Us
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When I was a young mother of one, my husband travelled quite
a bit with his job as a fund raiser and I often found myself home alone with an
infant. Needless to say, I also found myself quite lonely.
Ever since I was a teenager, I had the idea to one day write
a book, but had never made the time to do it what with school, then more school
then a full time job. But now I was a stay at home mother and had the time.
I pulled out an old laptop and started pounding out a story
I had running around in my head. And I loved it! I was totally hooked on this
writing thing. Unfortunately, I didnāt really know what I was doing.
In the meantime, I was also reading anything I could get my
hands onāespecially in the Romantic Suspense genre. One day while browsing the
Christian Fiction section at my local Christian bookstore, I came across a
story by Dee Henderson. Danger In the
Shadows really inspired me and I decided that, āI want to write like her!ā
Dee was relatively new on the publishing scene at that time,
but she quickly grew to be one of the top Christian fiction authors in the
publishing world. I emailed Dee and told how much I loved her book and wonder
of wonders, she emailed me back! Through our correspondence, she answered a lot
of my writing questions, encouraged me to keep chasing the dream and even
edited one of my manuscripts that she used as a teaching tool. Thanks to Deeās
willingness to mentor me, I learned how to write a lot faster than if Iād had
to rely on simply going to conferences and reading writing books!
Anyway, eight years later after several writing conferences,
and three completed manuscripts, I finally submitted to the Womenās
Contemporary Fiction line that Love Inspired used to have. I got the manuscript
back with a four-page revision letter and the offer to resubmit after I
completed the revisions.
I did this, resubmitted and on February 16th,
2007, received an offer from Love Inspired to publish it with the shorter line.
I was fine with that since the line I originally submitted it to was being
discontinued!
I can look back now and see, through this entire journey to
publication, Godās hand on each and every step. The people that he placed in my
path were there because He put them there. Not only were they there to teach
me, they were there to encourage and push me when I wondered if I should just
give up.
Again, looking back, I can see that God knew exactly what I
needed each step of the way. And truly, if we seek to follow Him, we can trust
that He will do exactly what He promises. He is faithful and Heāll never let us
down.
How about you? Can you think of a time that you wondered if
you were doing the right thing, but look back now and see God was moving and
working the whole time?
Thank you so much for having me on you blog!
Don't you just love when God puts a theme in the minds of many at the same time? It's as if He's saying, "Hello children. I'm here. I have everything under control. Rest easy and do the work I've trusted to you."
I'm sad to say I'm one of those who in the heat of the moment thinks I have a better plan. But thanks be to God, He knows I am finite, and still loves me and leads me to the point where I truly have to trust Him to be in charge. We are so blessed, right Deanna.
I wondered the last time I made a job change if I was doing the right thing. I later learned that this job move allowed me to meet a lifelong friend that would need my support very early on in our friendship. It was all a God thing.
Thanks for the giveaway. I am also a newsletter subscriber and get your posts via email.
Thanks so much for sharing, Connie!
Re the job change I had the similar situation happen. I left a Christian School which I loved working at but had no medical benefits and months later found a case worker job. This became a great opportunity for me to demonstrate my faith, a desire to work, and to establish friends. Years later I'm still friends with the co-workers and bosses. They see my testimony all the time. What a blessing. God knew. Like He knew for you.
I'm so glad you are able to help this friend of yours. What a great opportunity to be Jesus to someone.
Thanks for the interview Lynette, I loved learning about your writing journey! Your newest book is much anticipated by me, thanks for the chance to win a copy for myself. I saw on your FB page a while back, a video on the cover shoot. That was a lot of fun to see!
