Rick Barry Takes Us to Paris in his new release: Methuselah Project S.O.S

One of the best opportunities I have is hosting other authors. We usually chat about books and visit either the setting of the story or the place where the author is from here on my blog.

Today, Rick Barry is visiting with us and he has his new release, Methuselah Project S.O.S

The photos used in this post were provided by Rick.

Over the years, I've read Rick's works in writing groups at conferences, etc. Then when he released The Methuselah Project, a few years back, I was excited to get my copy and host him here on my blog.

As a fellow suspense author, I couldn't help but read his suspense stories. I've especially enjoyed Rick's gift for twisting a tale into something I never expected.

His new book, Methuselah Project S.O.S. can best be compared to Marvel or DC. If you are a superhero fan, you will love Methuselah Project S.O.S.

As with most superheroes, Roger Greene, the main character, was not born with his super powers. He was a pilot in WWII, but he is living today and working for one of those secret government agencies that protects us!

Hold on to your seat, Roger and his super powers are challenged to save the world in this exciting new novel.

You're going to love where this story takes you. FIRST..

The team flies to Paris, (so perfect...as you may recall I have been reading books set in Paris) and...

SECOND...

they end up in the Ukraine. Have you been there? I haven't...until I read The Methuselah Project S.O.S. You will not be disappointed.

I'll let author Rick Barry fill in more details:

Born in the final days of Nazi Germany, an underground organization is alive, growing, and manipulating events in our world today ā€¦

The survivor of a secret German experiment in 1943, Roger Greene possesses a unique physiology. To this day, his body remains youthful and heals quickly. In exchange for information about the mysterious Heritage Organization that Roger once escaped, the CIA has given him a new identity and pulled strings to get him into the modern U.S. Air Force.

Now, Rogerā€™s main thrills are serving his country in an F-35 and spending time with Katherine, the love of his life. Suddenly, the CIA shows up and drops a bombshellā€”evidence that Sophie, the woman who Roger believed had died helping him escape, is alive. The Heritage Organization is holding her and others prisoner in an unknown location.

Honor-bound to rescue the woman who risked her life for him, Roger accepts temporary duties with the CIA. But just when the mission is already straining his relationship with Katherine, Roger becomes a murder suspect. A fugitive, he continues the mission to find Sophie alone. What he discovers lands this pilot deep inside a shadowy network intent on world domination.

Will Rogerā€™s faith carry him through this questā€”or will those tracking him succeed in snuffing out his long life once and for all?

A sensational standalone story, Rick Barryā€™s sequel to The Methuselah Project launches you into an unforgettable journey through danger, suspense, hope, and loveā€”an experience that will keep you turning pages well into the night!

Suzanne Woods Fisher - Overcoming the Fear of Failure

We've all had something fail. Maybe a school assignment, baking a cake, changing a car tire. Well that was my shortlist confession. There really is a mile long list that you don't want to hear.  Talk about a quick drive to the blues. Even one negative comment in a barrel full of praises can take us down. Sigh. Why oh why do we remember the one negative one and forget the positives.  You are not alone. We all do this. But there is a way of escape. Today, Suzanne Woods Fisher is going to share her story. The Fear of Failure ā€œFor I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you. Do not fear; I will help youā€ (Isaiah 41:13, niv).              Years ago, before I received my first book contract, an editor returned a manuscript to me with the comment that the writing wasnā€™t up to her publishing houseā€™s ā€œcaliber.ā€  Ouch!  That was a tough remark to swal...

A Memory Device For You

Photo Courtesy Recently I added a memory game to my week's activities.  It all started when I listened to one of those fabulous sermons in church and actually took notes. Later in the week, I recalled liking the sermon and searched for the notes, but lamented when I couldn't find the piece of paper. I quizzed myself: What was the general topic? I racked my brainā€¦good grief this was Thursday and a thousand other things had happened when I asked the question. After a cup of tea, visualizing where I sat in the sanctuary, and using every other means possible to remember the general topic I finally answered the question.  The process to recall the rest of the good things said was an epic fail.  Although I have since started using a notebook I have created a memory game. On Monday, at any point during the day, I try to say the following without the use of my notes: General topic of the sermon Main book of the Bible used  Application p...

Fabulous Friday Feature-Laura Frantz

Today I welcome  Laura Frantz, a gracious lady showing the love of Christ with her smile. Enter to win Laura's  September 2013 release, Love's Awakening Scroll to the end of the post to see how to enter. I was introduced to Laura at an ACFW conference by my a fellow Writer's Alley Cat writer. Immediately I saw Laura's gracious spirit. It's been about two years since and I thought of that Christlike spirit when I noticed her new book release. I asked Laura to share with us the journey God has led her on for her writing career. Of course she graciously agreed. Here is what she said: You Were Born For Nothing Less Thanks so much for having me here, Mary. Itā€™s always a joy to revisit my writing journey as it stays fresh and is always humbling to think how God led me to this place.  In a nutshellā€¦ Iā€™ve written stories ā€“ historical fiction only ā€“ since I was seven years old. I think I came into the world hardwired to write. I didnā€™t ...
